Description:

Vetiver originated in sub-continental Asia. It belongs to the Poaceae family and is presented in the form of a large perennial herb which can reach 2 m in height. Its roots can descend to more than 3 m in depth.

The people of the eastern Mediterranean used to plunge vetiver roots in water and perfume themselves with it before nuptial and festive ceremonies.
