Lemon verbena - Lippia citriodora

Lippia citriodora

Belonging to the Verbenaceae family, lemon verbena is a perennial plant cultivated for its leaves with their beguiling perfume. Originating from South America, it can reach 3 m in height in its country of origin but does not exceed 80 cm in France because it cannot stand the frost.

Lemon verbena has an important place in the herb trade because infusions of its leaves stimulate the digestion and encourage relaxation. It also flavours many culinary preparations.

Lemon verbena leaf extract is used for its toning, refreshing properties and its invigorating lemony scent.
