Parsley - Carum petroselinum
Parsley, belonging to the Apiaceae family, is a biennial plant of 25 to 80 cm in height. Very aromatic when its leaves are rubbed, parsley has a characteristic smell. Two varieties are cultivated today, flat-leaf parsley and curly parsley.
Traditions:It is traditionally considered as beneficial. Also reputed for its aphrodisiac properties, it is an ingredient in many love elixirs.
Properties:Parsley extract has an inhibiting action on the key enzyme of melanic pigmentation. It also has antioxidant properties due to its vitamin C concentration. Acting on cell renewal, it encourages lightening of the complexion.
